A design for life

This weekend was Design Festa! Design Festa is held every six months, and features displays and stalls from anyone remotely creative. Amongst the endless painters, printers and bag-makers, theres musicians and other perfomance art, electronic installations and other stuff you just cant figure out. Its held at Tokyo Big Site, which seems like the most appropriate place in the world for it:

A lot of the displays dont allow photos, but heres some highlights of the Festa. :

This guy was great. His name is G.O.DrinKer.Jack, and he does these paintings in about half an hour using only Posca paint pens. We even bought a couple to take back home with us:

Perhaps the highlight of the festival was this girl:

She wouldnt have been much older than 6, and was charging 100yen ($1) for a portrait done in crayon. Naturally, we had to get one. I dont think she had drawn many westerners, because she spent three minutes trying to figure out what colour to make Gels hair. We eventually settled on a yellow / brown combination. So, presenting - Gel and I, as drawn by a six-year-old Japanese girl:

Is my head really that shape? Hmmm.
